Vintage 1970s J & G Meakin Poppy Floral Coffee Cup, Saucer & Side Plate Trio

Calling all vintage coffee cup lovers, this trio set is an absolute stunner and will make tea or coffee drinking a super stylish affair. This three piece set includes a coffee cup, a saucer (we like to be fancy at Interior Superior) and side plate for that all important cake or elevenses treat. The trio is part of the J & G Meakin Poppy range and is one of our all time favourite retro tea and coffee sets. Made in England circa 1970, the Meakin family operated one of the Staffordshire potteries from 1851 – 2000 making ironstone ceramics. Each cup is made from gloss white ironstone and has a bold poppy floral placement print. The saucers let the cup take centre stage and are plain with an olive green rim, then POW back to more bold and bright floral print on the side plate. For us, this bright orange and green poppy print epitomises the 70s and oozes vintage vibes. Not going to lie, it’s a hard one to let go of!

Each item is in excellent vintage condition – no chips, cracks or repairs. As these pieces are over 40 years old, there may be light cutlery marks or tiny areas of wear to the pattern in places, but nothing that would detract from its beauty or function. We recommend extra TLC for all our preloved pieces so advise hand washing.
